MAS EM provides subsidised support and hands-on advice to manufacturers to help them improve their competitiveness.

Developed and funded by the Department of Trade and Industry and East Midlands Development Agency (emda), MAS EM is one of 11 regional centres covering England, Wales and Scotland.

Since being launched in April 2002, we’ve helped generate a total of nearly £18 million of added value across nearly 1,700 East Midlands manufacturers and handled over 2,000 enquiries from SMEs.

Due to its proven success, Pera, based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, won a second three-year contract to run MAS EM until April 2008.

We work in association and close partnership with Business Links and other regional partners to improve manufacturing productivity and efficiency in small and medium sized companies (SMEs).

The DTI Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) is continuing to play a vital role in helping UK manufacturers to share knowledge, improve productivity and achieve success in an increasingly competitive global economy.
